Christmas Tree Cookies

I just wanted to share one of my families traditions.
Every year when I was growing up my mother made these green Almond Butter Christmas Tree Cookies
I have done the same with my kids and now my grand kids.

Almond Butter Cookies

1 cup butter room temperature
1/2 cup  granulated white sugar
1 large egg
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons pure almond extract
2 1/4 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350
Beat the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla and almond and mix.  On low speed, gradually add the flour and salt until well mixed. Add food coloring.
I use a cookie press for these cookies.
Place cookie sheet on center rack and bake 7-9 minutes. When they slightly start to brown on the edges take them out.

  1. These sound yummy and look pretty to! Isn't it wonderful to have such a tradition to carry on :)

Thanks for sharing with my NO RULES Weekend Blog Party!

  2. You're making me want to bust out my cookie press and do some holiday baking!

  3. Oh man those look good! I have never had success with my cookie press, but I think I will give it another try with these. Thanks so much for Sharing on We Made That.

  4. Thank you for linking these up on Sugar & Slice Sunday link party. You've been featured! I'm so glad you shared your tradition and the recipe. I have a great cookie press that my parents bought for me last year at Christmas which has the Christmas tree disc too. I'll be making these and will be posting them on my blog very soon so keep an eye out.

Hope to see you and more of your dessert creations on todays link party. Open Sunday-Thursday. :)
