Pumpkin Plant Holder

Day 19

Today I am sharing one of my daughters projects. Enjoy!

I was walking down the aisle at Walmart and saw a bunch of those trick-or-treat pumpkin buckets. Shades of blue really attract me so of course I picked out the brightest blue pumpkin there, for no reason. I also stopped by the scrapbook area of Walmart and got a pack of Halloween paper for $1. I ended up deciding to try mod-podge for the first time.

Here is my pumpkin and the paper I used. Mod-podge, a spongebrush, and dollar store fake flowers were also used.

I ripped up the paper into random pieces.

Then Mod-podged it all over the pumpkin with the sponge brush, then eventually just with my fingers. It was easier to press the paper into the pumpkin creases with my finger then the brush. It was hard around the face area and looked lumpy so that is just going to face the wall.

To finish off I threw in the flowers and some leaves.. After I finished I thought that if I would have just used orange paper I could keep it out through Thanksgiving. But I like how it turned out. The whole thing only cost a little more then $4.

I loved how this turned out! Thanks for sharing Timber.
